Personal Momentum
The dimensions of a square are its length and width, which are always equal. A circle is a curved line defined by its circumference, or by its two-dimensional property of enclosing space. Why does this even matter?
There were two siblings, Derrick and James, who were told to clean their rooms. James only did it when he was told. Derrick, on the other hand, not only cleaned his room without being told, but he also carried that same diligence into his studies and personal development. Derrick became someone who believed in internal motivation. James was motivated at times, but always needed someone else to push him.
So, how does this relate to the square and the circle? The square can be pushed, but it immediately stops once the pushing ends. The circle, once pushed, continues to roll and builds momentum. Role models, mentors, and advisors are important for your growth, but they are there to assist you, not to replace your internal motivation.
You can always find desire in a man's heart. When you are wondering why you have lost momentum, look inside your heart to see if the flames of desire still burn.
